Expert custom machining and manufacturing solutions.
Family owned and operated since 1987, Sterling Precision Machining has been a trusted name in Northeastern Connecticut for CNC custom machining and manufacturing. Commitment to quality and precision machining has earned us a solid reputation in the industry.
We operate out of a 10,000 square foot facility in an established industrial park.
Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining uses computer-guided equipment to automate production. At Sterling Precision Machining, Inc., we provide comprehensive CNC machining solutions. Our facility is equipped with multiple CNC milling and turning centers to meet your manufacturing requirements.
We are capable of performing CNC milling and turning on a wide range of materials, including plastics, stainless steel, titanium alloys, and aluminum.
Although CNC machines are computer-controlled, manual machining requires skilled technicians to operate the equipment by hand. Many projects still benefit from the precision and flexibility of manual machining. Sterling Precision Machining, Inc. is one of the few remaining shops that continue to provide these specialized services.
Our shop is equipped with a range of manual lathes, mills, grinders, and other traditional machining tools. Each lathe and mill is outfitted with digital readouts (DRO) to ensure consistent accuracy and repeatability in every part we produce.
Sterling Precision Machining, Inc. provides repair and refurbishing services for various types of equipment. Reach out to us with details about your equipment, and we’ll work with you to determine the best solution for your specific requirements.
At Sterling Precision Machining, Inc., quality control is a critical part of both CNC and manual machining processes. For CNC machining, precision is maintained through programmed accuracy and consistent monitoring, with each operation following exact specifications. Manual machining, while reliant on skilled craftsmanship, also adheres to strict quality standards, supported by the use of digital readouts (DRO) and calibrated measuring tools to ensure consistency. All parts, whether produced by CNC or manually, undergo thorough inspection to verify dimensions, tolerances, and surface finishes meet customer requirements. This commitment to quality ensures reliable, high-performance components across all machining methods.
